Publisher's Description:

MarVoSym - The True Type Symbol Font MARVOSYM.TTF is a valuable addition for any office or civil engineering purpose. It contains often-needed but rarely available symbols as the mysterious Estimated-Sign (e-symbol), Fax Machine, Answering Machine, Cellular Phone, Steel Profile Symbols, the original Euro Currency Symbol and lots more. In 2007 the font has been completely redesigned with Fontforge on Ubuntu Linux 7.10. The character encoding was modified to fit the need of MS-Windows users who cannot access symbol fonts correctly if the code area 128-159 is not remapped to certain unicode positions.

List of Changes:

Version 3.10 from 2007-11-11

I like your font. Till now I used only a few simbols. I really like the cell-phone, original solution, no antenna, but you see anyway without a doubt that this is a cell phone! One remark about the e-mail sign, if you put it into the text it is located too high, in my opinion the envelope should be equally with the text. So for marking my email unfortunately I didn't use the "e-mail" sign, but a regular "letter-envolope" sign.

I found that the font was not what I required; I was looking for the european 'estimated' symbol, which I later found out appears in the glyphs window of all opentype fonts - if anybody is interested? Many thanks for your service though.

Cheers, Rod.

I'm a mac user (PPC G5, Os 10.5.8). Font didn't work in Pages. According to my search on the internet this seems to be a general problem of Apple's Pages w/ this particular font.

I had understood that I could find a solar symbol (an O with a dot in the middle) but was disappointed that I could not find it.

English text follows.

Una raccolta di simboli davvero ben fatta: ho usato solo pochi simboli di questa raccolta ma sono ottimi anche quando vengono usati a dimensioni molto grandi.

English text begins:
This is a really well-done collection of symbols: i used only a few of them but are really good at very large size too.

I can't see these fonts in my WinXP...

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for. I had the nuclear radiation and bio-hazard symbols in earlier versions of Windows but my Win7 did not have them.

Was this font or a subset of it ever known under a different name?

I was looking for a telephone symbol for a friend.

I told him about MarVoSym and Wingdings as possible alternatives.

Hello,

As such I am not a regular visitor of www.qarchive.org. I just downloaded a font, which is not readily available on other sites, so I am thankful to www.qarchive.org

I'm trying the product but I did find problems using it with Spanish Keyboard configuration.
Anyway I'll keep trying.

After I downloaded the fonts, it became clear that it did not have or seem to have the fonts that I needed right away. In the meantime, I found that my current software has the fonts that I need, even if it requires a considerable amount of "digging" to find them. I should add that I am not computer proficient, and so this is the reflection of someone who just wants something simple and easily used for my purposes.

Thank you! This font has enabled me to utilize symbols that I have searched for in regular fonts for the past two years but could not find.

Thank you for the fee download when others are charging outrageous prices.
Only one comment:

Downloaded quickly, no problems on my I-mac.
I needed it for the European "Estimated" symbol.
Works well and I am sure I will use some of the other symbols in the future.
Thanks very much.

I tried to install the Marvosym font in my Apples /System folder (alongside my other TTF's), but I've yet to find out how to use the Marvosym in Word for Mac.. Marvosym is in my font-list, but my font jumps back to Times New Roman, upon typing...

! please advise

Very useful - I used it for the astrological symbols (mars and venus). So good for biologists, too!

Great font package

Nice font package, particularly for the astronomical symbols. My only request: all the planets are present *except* for the earth (a circle spanned by a cross).

Symbols Made Easy

When dealing with engineering, I need to find and use basic electrical symbols. Some are easy to find as graphics but this format is hard to use in manuals. Having these symbols as a font has made using them in basic word processing very convenient.

Just the right symbol for the job

Very useful font set - has a wealth of useful symbols that I haven't found elsewhere.
Took a while to work out the chart to access the symbols using the Alt-Numberpad keypresses - Go to Martin Vogel's page by following the Publisher link on the right for full instructions how to use the chart.
Must-have font: vielen Dank Martin!
